FutureLink: A Call for Change

The World Health Organisation projects a critical shortage of 11 million healthcare workers globally by 2030, particularly impacting low-income regions like sub-Saharan Africa. Accessibility, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality healthcare education are urgently required to bridge this gap. This is why we have launched FutureLink. An education programme that aims to revolutionise healthcare education in low-income regions. Helping to deliver education into hard to reach places and increase healthcare capacity so that communities everywhere can thrive.

It is projected that the shortage of health workers in Africa will reach 6.1 million by 2030 (WHO 2022)
Of 47 African countries surveyed, it was determined that the region has a ratio of 1.55 health workers (physicians & nurses) per 1000 people. This is critically short of the World Health Organisations threshold density of 4.45 health workers per 1000 people needed to deliver essential health services
Only 1.3% of the world’s health workers care for people who experience 25% of the
global disease burden

In the UK, we are helping to inspire a future generation of healthcare professionals.

When children have opportunities, they can achieve amazing things.

At Goggleminds, we believe in the power of opportunity to shape futures. Through our FutureMinds Initiative, we are committed to inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals by providing free VR workshops that enable school children to step into the shoes of nurses and doctors. Thousands have already benefited, and we are committed to reaching 100,000 students by 2027, empowering them to pursue meaningful careers in healthcare.
